In the recording process, the sonic qualities of 18 different cymbals were methodically captured by sound designer and recordist Thomas Brodeur and the Sonomar team. Each cymbal was carefully struck at different velocities, angles, and locations (bell, rim, bow) with both wooden sticks and mallets – giving you plenty of colors and tonal nuances to choose from.

Over 450 unique cymbal sounds were recorded using three separate stereo pairs for a variety of distinct timbres and perspectives, providing more than 1,300 files total – each with a single cymbal hit or oneshot. All recordings were captured at 192kHz for endless creative possibilities in pitching and processing.

Each sound file is embedded with rich metadata to help you find the exact sound effect you need with fast, pinpoint search. Advanced metadata fields include translated French descriptions and additional info to ensure compatibility across any database search platform such as SoundQ, Soundminer, BaseHead, Netmix, Workspace (Pro Tools), Find Tool (Media Composer), Media Bay (Nuendo), Reaper, Adobe Premiere, and beyond.
