Kroeber and her late partner Splet are each hugely influential figures in developing and pioneering the creative use of sound in film. Their unique sound effects recording and design work can be heard in dozens of acclaimed films like The Black Stallion, Blue Velvet, and Dune, and in collaborations with directors like David Lynch, Peter Weir, Philip Kaufman, and Carroll Ballard. Kroeber has since worked on and supplied sounds for many films, television shows, and games – including six movies that won an Academy Award® in sound and seven additional nominations.
